My first “real” job as a college grad was in the typing pool at Arthur Andersen.

I learned so much there. Mostly what it means to start from the bottom and work hard to prove yourself.
That, and the importance of being able to type really fast!

I like to think my career REALLY started in the Marketing department of the architecture firm Perkins&Will. I will always be grateful for the depth of experience and breadth of skills I was able to develop while working in a dynamic work environment with interesting people who cared so much about design, branding, and attention to detail.

​

As a Marketing Coordinator, I learned how to manage my time to get all the deadlines done. I gained valuable graphic design skills that I’ve continued to refine over the years. As the Marketing Manager, I learned how to coach employees up and strategize with the leadership of the office. As the Corporate Marketing Director, I expanded my network across the country, led a re-branding effort, and implemented a new CRM database.

After 10 years in the industry, I was tired of all the travel. My husband and I had a baby. My priorities shifted. What didn’t change was this: I am dedicated to working with my clients to develop clear a Marketing strategy and the tactics to make it happen. This dedication led to the birth of another baby, JKM Marketing. My boutique consulting business provides Marketing Services: strategic planning, branding, marketing collateral, wesite development, blog and social media content development and distribution, and e-mail marketing campaigns.
